Children’s Aid
Children’s Aid helps children living in poverty in New York City to succeed and thrive.
They believe all kids have limitless potential, and we know what it takes to ensure children grow up strong, healthy, and ready to thrive in school and life: excellent education and health care, social-emotional support, and strong, stable families.
That’s why they serve 50,000 children and families each year, supporting every stage of childhood development through comprehensive programming in community schools and centers, health clinics, and homes. Examples of their work include:
Early childhood education
After school and summer camps
College-readiness and workforce development
Food and nutrition programming
Medical, dental, and mental health services
Foster care and prevention
Through these and other services, they work alongside families and in partnership with communities to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty – ensuring children grow up strong, healthy, and ready to succeed.
Boston University Center for Antiracist Research
The mission of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research is to convene researchers and practitioners from various disciplines to devise novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice.
We foster exhaustive research, research-based policy innovation, data-driven educational and advocacy campaigns, and narrative-change initiatives. To conduct this work, we partner with grassroots organizations, scholars, and advocates in the racial justice movement.
Our initial focus areas are the criminal-legal system, health and social safety net, and racial and ethnic data collection.
